Kress Oval Garden

Everything about Adam and Michelle’s wedding day embodied a modern-day fairy tale, from their high school sweetheart status to the bride’s majestic floral crown. The pair met on a school trip to Wisconsin Dells and have been together ever since. This summer they exchanged “I dos” in Kress Oval Garden, surrounded by elegant rose bushes and vibrant perennials, during a wedding full of sentimental details straight from the heart.

“Adam and I had been together for almost 12 years before getting married, so we really knew what we were getting into” said Michelle, the bride.

For her and Adam, the perfect venue had to reflect their personality. “I love being outside and nature. I am a little bit of a hippie, so I wanted somewhere natural that showcased that,” explained Michelle who described the wedding theme as “Casual boho.”

Cue Kress Oval Garden, one of the most popular ceremony sites at Green Bay Botanical Garden. With its abundance of roses, arbors, and enchanting views, this garden provides a classically romantic setting perfect for any style of ceremony. For Michelle and Adam, “The Garden helped set the theme and tone” of their big day. The best part? “We really had to do no decorating because the Garden was beautiful enough,” said Michelle.

So, how did this fairy tale vision become a reality? Michelle gleaned some insights during the planning process to share with other couples:

“Don’t stress or be nervous! Enjoy every moment and try to have a moment alone with your significant other.” For those wanting an outdoor wedding, “Get the tent on backup! This is Wisconsin!”

Throughout planning, Adam and Michelle incorporated some sentimental surprises into their ceremony. “One thing that was really cool was that my mom saved my flower girl dress from when I was 5 or 6 and in my aunt’s wedding and my flower girl got to wear it” said Michelle. The couple also got their loved ones involved by having a good friend officiate and Michelle’s cousin preform the processional music. Michelle said their involvement made her ceremony, “So special and personal!”

The couple’s selected vendors also ensured that the day was special as they helped bring the bride and groom’s vision to life. Local companies like Green Bay Petal Pushers and Marcia’s Confections provided the flowers and treats and Karen Ann Photography captured every moment throughout this heartfelt day.

Along with their amazing vendors, Adam and Michelle’s loved ones were also a source of support. Michelle said “It was an unforgettable moment walking down the aisle and knowing that all of those people were there for us.”

Making sure their day stayed focused on what really mattered was important to Adam and Michelle and the Garden was able to help.

“I loved all of the flowers and the natural setting. It allowed people to really be focused on us because hopefully they were in a natural state of mind and focusing on us and nothing else,” said Michelle.

With the help of loved ones, personalized touches and plenty of flowers, Adam and Michelle’s botanical, bohemian wedding came together beautifully and served as the perfect beginning for the next chapter in their classic love story.
