homemade pastaLearn to make pasta the way Bridgett’s mother taught her! Each participant will make one pound of pasta to take home and will leave with the recipe. Once everyone’s pasta is made, the class will enjoy pasta and sauce, salad with homemade dressing, breadsticks and a sweet bite for dessert!

Snowshoe Hike @ Green Bay Botanical Garden

Find a new way to explore the outdoors this winter! Learn the basics of snowshoeing, explore ways that plants survive the cold and search for tracks and signs of animals. Dress in layers and be prepared to be outdoors for about 1 hour. Snowshoes are sized for ages 6 and up. Program will be held as a hike if there isn’t enough snow for snowshoes.

Preview insects that may pose a threat to Wisconsin landscapes and learn how you can become a “First Detector”. As representatives of the Sentinel Plant Network, they’ll also teach you how to report your findings and help to protect our native plants!

Travel back to Pomerania with our host by tracing his genealogy and learn about his family’s heritage in this region. Pomerania, Slavic for “along the sea”, is an area of northern Germany and Poland reaching the Baltic Sea. It was a Prussian province from 1701 to 1947 and was absorbed into Germany and Poland following WWII.
