Anyone can be a poet! Start your poetry journey by learning the process of writing the Japanese style poem of Haiku. Bring along a photo of a special person, place or object as inspiration as you create your Haiku. Sandy will share examples of her writing as well as Haikus of former students as she reviews writing terms and guides you in the steps to creating your own Haiku. Jackie Johnson, ND, Planhigion Herbal Learning Center
Humans have used plants for life and survival since the beginning. We will discuss how herbs have been used in the past, and how there has been a recent resurgence in their use as we want to use what we grow (and know to free of toxic chemicals). We’ll discuss categories of herbs and how they work, and provide examples of easy ones to start growing and work with. We’ll blend and sample a few teas for specific purposes, and make a tincture and a syrup mix to take with you for when a flu or cold strikes.
