Know Before You Glow (FAQs)

WPS Garden of Lights

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Do you walk or drive through the lights?

WPS Garden of Lights is a walk-through show. We encourage guests to dress accordingly with weather-appropriate footwear and clothing. Families walking with small children should bring a large wheeled stroller or pull along wagon. The walk through the light show is just under a mile (0.85).

How long does it take to see the lights?

As long as you like, but typically 30-45 minutes for the walking tour. The walk through the light show is just under a mile (0.85). Arrive one hour before closing, at 8 pm, to allow you and your guests enough time to experience the light show. Horse-drawn wagon rides are available from 5-7 pm each event night only and last about 10-15 minutes. We recommend you arrive by 6:30 pm to allow enough time to walk the upper paved portion of the light displays.

When is the best time to visit?

The number of visitors increases on warmer winter nights and on Saturday evenings. Visitation tends to peak between 5:30–7:30 pm. Visitation is lighter on opening weekend, Thursday evenings, early Friday evenings and Sunday evenings (Green Bay Packers afternoon and evening games). Please remember we are closed November 28 and December 24 & 25.

Can I bring my pet?

Service animals are welcome, but please leave pets and Emotional Support Animals (ESAs) at home. Please let us know you have a service animal when you arrive so we can make our staff aware. View frequently asked questions about service animals and the ADA.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Our guests’ safety is our number one priority. We close WPS Garden of Lights in cases of extreme inclement weather. Notices will be posted on our website, Facebook page and local news and radio stations. We do not close if it is simply snowing.

  • Horse-drawn Wagon Ride Ticket Holders: Wagons are available on a first-come, first-served basis from 5-7 pm. Please arrive no later than 6:30 pm to get on the wagon. We do our best to accommodate all wagon ride guests in a timely and safe manner and appreciate your patience. Your ticket includes a .5 mile Walking Tour of the paved pathways in the upper gardens before arriving at the Wagon Tour, which only travels the .4 miles of lower gardens mulched pathways. Please ask for assistance at the ticketing counter night-of for a golf cart ride from the building to the wagon ride if unable to walk down the paved path. There are three large steps up into the horse-drawn wagon, please bring someone to assist you.
  • Accessibility: The paths in the upper gardens are paved, shoveled and salted, and should be accessible to wheelchairs, walkers, strollers and pull-along wagons. There are no motorized scooters or wheelchairs available at the Garden. The lower mulched path is difficult to navigate and not recommended for wheelchairs or walkers.
  • Photos: There are great photo opportunities, even beyond the beloved caterpillar. While taking photos, please be sure to keep pathways clear and accessible to all guests.

We can’t wait to celebrate with you this holiday season!
