3 Ways to Make the Most of Your Dress Rehearsal

Being mere days away from your wedding ceremony is a thrilling time when emotions run high. While it’s one of the most exhilarating times of your life, it’s still completely normal to feel jittery about your special day. But don’t fear – the rehearsal is here!

The wedding rehearsal isn’t a glamorous run through of your wedding followed by a fancy dinner. Mistakes should happen! That way, you can address and resolve them well before your big day. So, get rid of the formalities, and make your rehearsal a safe space to build confidence. If that sounds intimidating, don’t worry, we have some helpful tips.

Don’t Be the Bad Guy

Managing a large crowd can be stressful, and when it’s the people you love the most, tensions run high. That’s why it’s great to have someone else take responsibility!

Your wedding coordinator shares your vision and knows your plans. Allowing them to assertively voice timekeeping and organization prevents you from being the square. If you haven’t opted for a coordinator, a trusted friend or family member with strong leadership qualities can keep the rehearsal on task just as well. That way you can focus on preparing yourself for your wedding!

Break the Ice

A wedding party is an amalgamation of all the important people from every phase of you and your partner’s lives. If they don’t know each other, it can create a funky dynamic. Starting your rehearsal with brief introductions is a great way to contextualize your relationships and break the ice. That way, if you have a rehearsal dinner afterwards, they aren’t in a room full of strange faces.

Clear Up Confusions

While it’s important that you feel comfortable after the rehearsal, making sure that all participants are confident in their roles is a great way to prevent wedding day goof-ups.

When you feel like things are wrapping up, make sure to ask your attendees if they have any questions. This encourages them to be transparent, and feel comfortable making their confusions known. After all, it’s much easier to address problems during the rehearsal than during your actual ceremony.
