The Holiday Party Guide: 4 Ways to Make Your Seasonal Party Unforgettable

With the holidays waiting right around the corner, the calendar fills up pretty quickly. Now’s your chance to plan the perfect winter gathering, and we have just the venue in mind! Planning the ultimate holiday celebration can be overwhelming, but don’t worry, we have plenty of tips. Here are our helpful hints for your flawless festive party.

Get Started Early

Planning at the last minute isn’t courteous, and often ends in a poorly attended event. So, the first thing you need to do is send out the invites! With so many special celebrations, the holidays are a busy time of year. To make sure all of your favorite guests are in attendance, give them the benefit of advanced notice. After all, getting your invites out sooner means that your guests are less likely to have schedule conflicts.

Keep Your To-Do List Small

While it’s great to have a long list of attendees, keeping so many guests happy and well fed can be quite a feat! Plus, when you’re juggling too much, it’s easy to slip up and make little mistakes. That’s why it might be a good idea to consider a caterer. They’ll make sure everyone has plenty of delicious food to eat, without the hassle (or the dishes)! A caterer can also accommodate for any of your guests’ known dietary needs, taking the pressure off of you on the big day.

The holidays are all about sweets, and thankfully there are plenty of options. Having sugar cookies, gingerbread, peppermint brittle, or pie in hand is the perfect way to set the festive tone.

Make Your Party an Experience

While good food is important, it certainly can’t fix a boring party. If you do choose to host your party at the Garden, don’t sweat it! With your rental package, you’ll be granted access to our WPS Garden of Lights. With over 350,000 twinkly bulbs displayed throughout the snow-covered landscape, it’s sure to be a hit!

While you’re at it, let your guests know ahead of time. While a fancy holiday party is a great excuse to dress up, stilettos and suits may not be the best choice for a snowy adventure. If you do opt for an outdoor experience, tell your guests to dress for the weather.

Warm Up with Drinks

Everyone knows that a party isn’t complete without drinks. After a walk through the snow, it’s time to warm up with hot beverages like hot chocolate, cider, and even coffee! Plus, you can spruce them up with Irish cream, Cinnamon schnapps, or Peppermint schnapps. If you’d prefer to skip the alcohol, mulled cider, hot chocolate, or flavored lattes do the trick!
