Winter is typically considered the wedding off-season, but it has so much to offer! With serene nights, dazzling lights, and stunning landscapes draped with snow, it’s the perfect time for a cozy engagement. Here are a few tips to get you started.
Plan Ahead
It can be hard to squeeze things in at the end of the year. Between holiday parties, family trips, and so much more, November and December can be incredibly busy. When you’re planning a proposal, it’s important to make sure that the people who matter most can be there to celebrate you and your love. Coordinate calendars and make any bookings well in advance to ensure that everything goes smoothly.
Dress for the Weather
Whether it’s 20 or -20 degrees, it’s important to wear layers, especially if your proposal is taking place outdoors. Make sure that you and your partner dress for the weather. Sensible shoes, warm outerwear, and a hand warmer or two do wonders. Plus, that doesn’t mean you can’t still look stunning! Winter outfits can be cozy and timeless, creating fond photo memories.
Embrace the Season
Winter enchants like no other. Festive décor, like snow-dusted pinecones, warm lights, and lush wreaths, can create a cozy environment for an indoor proposal. That way you get the full experience of a winter celebration without the goosebumps. If you plan on braving the cold, make sure to plan indoor stops and bring warm beverages so that you and your partner are warm enough to appreciate all of the special moments that await you.
Capture It All
As you experience your big day, make sure someone is there to grab a few photos! Whether it’s a family member, friend, or a professional photographer, photos create wonderful memories for years to come.
