Carol & Bruce Bell Children’s Garden

Frolic in the flowers... explore the Bell Children's Garden this spring!

This 2.5-acre outdoor wonderland with more than 19,000 plants connects nature, play, and learning!

The Bell Children’s Garden features a variety of accessible outdoor areas, awe-inspiring structures, and an overall nature-based story where children in our community and their families can discover delight and wonder while learning about their local Wisconsin environment.

Three out of every four plants are native to our area – more than 15,000 plants! – helping to inspire guests to plant more natives at home or in their neighborhoods.

This space also educates guests about managing rainwater runoff, preserving wetlands, and understanding the local environment’s significance. Plus, interactive educational signs offer guests an accessible way to dig deeper into learning about nature with large graphics, audio options at the push of a button, and scannable QR codes for Spanish translations.

This immense outdoor garden supports the Garden’s mission of connecting people with plants by creating a garden experience for everyone that promises to cultivate, educate, and inspire a lifetime connection to the natural world.
