Do our guests have to pay admission to get into the Garden for our wedding ceremony or reception?

Your guests will not have to pay admission to attend your wedding ceremony or reception. However, we ask that an adequate amount of chairs are present for your guests during your wedding ceremony.

Are we allowed to bring in alcohol?

In compliance with our liquor license, the Garden is moving to a no beverage carry-in policy–this includes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Bags and coolers may be searched and you may be asked to return items to your vehicle. Guests may bring in empty water bottles or other empty beverage containers to use for refills. Guests are not allowed to drink beverages in the Garden’s parking lot.

 

Due to state and local liquor license restrictions, all alcohol beverage service for scheduled events on the Garden’s premises must be purchased and served through Green Bay Botanical Garden. Alcohol brought in by clients, wedding parties or their guests will be disposed of immediately or guest may be asked to vacate the premises.

Do you tentatively hold event dates while I review options for my wedding?

We will hold dates for two (2) days. If not contacted after the second day, the Events Team will contact you before releasing the date and making it available for other event inquiries. An event will not be considered confirmed or officially reserved until the signed agreement and 50% non-refundable deposit are received.

Are we allowed to select multiple beverage service options provided by the Garden?

We can customize your beverage service to fit your needs: services set by a dollar amount, time limit, beverage type (cash or hosted bar), drink tickets, etc. We will do our best to accommodate any special beverage requests that you may have.

Are we allowed to bring in decorations to the Garden?

You are welcome to bring in decorations into the Garden for your event. Decorations that may cause damage to the grounds or facility spaces are strictly forbidden. Please refer to the rental agreement for garden policies or contact the Events Team with questions.

Are we allowed to get into the Garden early to set up for our ceremony?

You will be allowed to enter the Garden early to set up for your ceremony, indoor or outdoor, if the event schedule permits. Arrangements will be made on a case by case basis and need to be scheduled with the Events Team.

Are we allowed to get into the Garden early to set up for our reception?

You are guaranteed the space within your contracted rental time. For an additional fee, more time to set up may be arranged with the Events Team (subject to availability). All deliveries of supplies and equipment must be made the same day of the event with advance notice of time of delivery.

Do you offer any rental discounts?

We offer a discount on rental space for members based on membership level. Please inquire for details.

How do I book my wedding ceremony or reception at the Garden?

All events require a signed agreement and a 50% non-refundable deposit for the facility rental. Please coordinate your event booking by contacting the Events Team. An event will not be considered confirmed or officially reserved until the signed agreement and 50% non-refundable deposit are received.

Is there a room available for the wedding party to get ready?

A dressing suite is provided for half of the wedding party to use one (1) hour prior to the ceremony and will be reserved at the time of booking. All belongings must be removed from the dressing suite within the allotted one (1) hour period. 

Is there access to electricity for my wedding ceremony?

Electricity is available for five (5) of our wedding ceremony sites: Kress Oval Garden, Johnson Woodland Garden, Matthew Schmidt Garden, Cowles Terrace and Kaftan Lusthaus. Client is responsible for providing electrical cords.

Is there a Garden staff member here the day of my wedding to direct my guests, answer questions or to help me with my wedding?

The Garden has an Event Lead to assist you and your guests during rehearsals, ceremonies or receptions. Our Event Host ensures that all guests, caterers and vendors adhere to Garden policies and is available to answer any questions that you may have. The Event Host is not responsible for the cleanup, set up or tear down of items brought into the facility by wedding couples or guests.

If there is inclement weather, does the Garden provide a rain backup for my wedding ceremony?

The Garden is not entitled to provide a rain backup for inclement weather the day of your event. However, should you rent one of our outdoor gardens; tents may be rented in advance of the event for an additional fee and coordinated with our Events Team. The Garden staff will assist you and your guests as much as possible in the event of inclement weather.

Are we able to bring our own minister or officiant for our wedding?

We welcome you to select your own minister or officiant for your wedding.

Does Green Bay Botanical Garden allow smoking on the premises?

The Garden is a smoke-free environmentally friendly facility. It is your responsibility to inform your guests of this policy and ensure compliance.

Does Green Bay Botanical Garden allow concealed weapons on the premises?

The Garden does not permit the right to carry concealed weapons on the Garden grounds.

Do our guests have to pay for parking?

The Garden offers free on site parking in front of our Fischer Visitor Center. 

Does our photographer or videographer need to have a permit to photograph our wedding at the Garden?

A permit is required for all posed photography and videography including weddings, engagements, families, maternity, quinceañeras, senior photos or the like, and all other commercial photography. All permits may be obtained during Garden hours or by contacting the Events Team.

Are photos allowed to be taken on the grounds before or after our ceremony or reception?

We welcome you to take photos before or after your ceremony or reception throughout the grounds during Garden hours. However, as more than one ceremony can take place during the day on a specific site, your site time will be limited to the contracted time.
